I love my job. It has been one week, and I love it. I will let you know after next week if I still feel the same way, but I anticipate that I will because really - my job is pretty much planning fun stuff for young LGBTers to do. For example, I think we're going kayaking soon. We're going to play kickball next week. We watched Scream last week. And there's a huge dance party this Friday and every Friday after that for the rest of my life. It's perfection.
My co-workers are awesome. There's a sassy one, a sweet one, a chill one, and a lover of Shakira one, and then there's me, and I feel like it's a perfect fit. Last week was basically my orientation phase, and I got to set up my desk and everything! Really, the only bad thing is that I have to work on a PC and coming from my little Mac-world, it's tedious and annoying. But if that's all I'm complaining about, I better shut my mouf!
The kids, as I like to call them, not to be confused with the kid, are pretty damn cool. I'm not really allowed to talk about them, to protect their privacy, and I don't really want to, other than the fact that they're really cool people who are going to do amazing things in this world. They are going to do these amazing things because of the amazing place and services that are offered to them at the place in which I work. I'm really honored to be a part of such a magical place. It's like I work at Disneyland and I'm in a Tinkerbell costume, making dreams come true left and right. By watching Scream.
Although I'm pretty candid about most facets of my life on this blog, the details of my job will not really be shared. I'm a young professional now, a young professional who still gets to wear jeans and sandals and whatever the hell I want to work, but still, there are standards that I need to comply with. And I'm happy to do so, because I'm happy in my job.
